Fenagh in 2019: A Look Back at the Past Year

As 2019 comes to a close, Fenagh would like to look back some notable company events from the past year.

It was a pivotal year for us, with many big projects coming to completion, and the expansion of our facilities to better serve our clients. This year moved Fenagh forward with many events that contributed to our growth. This included the expansion of our work force, a number of new exciting construction projects, and the opening of a brand-new laboratory facility.

So with the arrival of the New Year, let’s look back at some key events from 2019:

Video Commercial Launch

In January we released a video commercial that highlighted our services and projects. It primarily featured our Four Seasons One Dalton project, one of the tallest residential towers in New England at 740 feet and 61 stories tall.

Winning Irish Echo’s Small Business Big Impact Award

In May we attended the Irish Echo awards ceremony and won the “Irish Small Business Big Impact Award”. It was a fantastic evening celebrating the achievements of many small Irish businesses, and we were honored to be recognized. Not to mention, we also had the chance to meet Boston Mayor Marty Walsh at the ceremony!

TD Garden Project

Another exciting project we worked on this year was the TD Garden interior transformation project. As members of the Boston community, it’s always a pleasure to work on the home of the NBA Celtics and NHL Bruins. We worked with Gilbane and Delaware North on this project, and our scope of work pertained to specialty testing on the new stadium seats.

One Dalton Grand Opening

One Dalton, the 61-story tower in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood, finally opened its doors to the public this past May. We were proud to be part of a project that transformed the Boston skyline, and it was great to see the Grand Opening after all of our team’s hard work.

Encore Boston Harbor Grand Opening

In June there was another big Grand Opening celebration, this time at Encore Boston Harbor. This $2.6 billion project in Everett, Massachusetts, had been many years in the making. Owned by Wynn Resorts, this luxury resort and casino is located on a rehabilitated 33-acre parcel of land in a commercial-industrial area on the Mystic River, about five miles from downtown Boston. We were proud to help ensure this project was built according to proper codes and requirements, and to finally see it open its doors to the public.

Working on Anaheim Digital Transformation

This year we also had the pleasure of working in Anaheim, California, on the 35-year citywide upgrade to the fiber optics system. This is an underground project in which the contractor is trenching and installing a variety of conduits for multiple applications including electrical, fiber optic, telephone, and TV conduits. Conduit installation will eventually eliminate the city’s overhead cables and poles completely!

Natick Office Opening

Perhaps the biggest month of the year for us was September, when we opened our brand new facility in Natick. This New England office is a major upgrade to our previous space, with ample room for engineers and administrative personnel. All of the engineering stations and offices are designed to promote a collaborative work environment. The goal of the new space and layout is to ultimately improve inspector performance and job satisfaction. Check out this video from the Grand Opening Celebration.

NYC Hurling Event

Finally, in November Fenagh had the pleasure of seeing our name projected across Citi Field at the 2019 New York Hurling Classic. Hurling is “Ireland’s Ancient Warrior Sport” and is widely believed to be the world’s oldest field game. After 3 successful years in Boston, the Hurling Classic event finally made the move to New York city and we were proud to be a part of it.
