Fostering Future Engineers – Fenagh’s New Office

Fenagh Engineering and Testing recently opened our doors to a Brand New, 10,000 sq ft Boston Office! We opened the new facility in Natick, Massachusetts, to be close to our New England projects and attract a wider range of talent for our growing team.

The building is a major upgrade to our previous office, with ample room for engineers and administrative personnel. The 10,000 sq ft facility is divided between 8,000 sq ft of laboratory space and 2,000 sq ft of office space. All of the engineering stations and offices are designed to promote a collaborative work environment. The goal of the new space and layout is to ultimately improve inspector performance and job satisfaction.

You can tell we feel right at home from the moment you walk in the door. The front lobby immediately invokes our company’s Irish heritage with a wall display that includes a Fenagh-branded Irish hurling club and traditional Celtic Bodhran drum.

Just to the left of the lobby there is a glass-paneled, state-of-the-art conference room. With only a transparent wall separating the conference room and front lobby, visitors can have a first-hand view of Fenagh’s leadership team at work.

With the new office, we have created a space that fosters future engineers. All of the engineering stations have been upgraded and the lab space has been enhanced with new state-of-the-art equipment. It is also and a place for future engineers to come gain experience and knowledge through our internship programs with North Eastern and Wentworth.

This expansion is also focused on creating a lab space to support our clients’ needs, including any future advancements in the materials testing field. For example, this facility allows us to be the only company in New England that provides Modulus of Elasticity (MOE) testing. We want to make sure we have the space to continue providing any other new methods like MOE testing and other future specialized testing methods that are project specific, allowing us to further meet the needs of our clients and their complex designs.

On September 19, Fenagh held a Grand Opening Ceremony to celebrate the new office, and the exciting future it represents. If was a fun and festive afternoon, with many members of the Fenagh family in attendance.

The celebration kicked off with an open house and networking mixer. There was Guinness, an Irish band, and a massive inflatable pub. Everybody gathered on the front lawn where there was champagne and a group toast before our founder Patrick Green officially opened the office by cutting a large red ribbon by the front doors. It was an exciting moment marking the next phase of Fenagh’s growth.

After the ceremony, the festival began. The inflatable pub was filled with food, drinks, and members of the Fenagh family, while the traditional Irish band provided musical accompaniment. We celebrated into the evening, discussing Fenagh’s past accomplishments, our present opportunities, and the possibilities for the future.

Fenagh was founded by Patrick Greenan, the son of 2 Irish immigrants who raised their 6 children in the heart of Boston. The name Fenagh is a village in Ireland where Patrick’s father Eugene was born and raised. This past year we lost both Eugene and his wife Kathleen to old age; both were in their late nineties. The couple were vibrant members of the Boston community, and the significance of our expansion in the same year as their passing is not lost on us. Fenagh will continue serving our clients with trust, expertise, and hard work as core principles, paying homage to those that have inspired us to do so.

As Fenagh moves forward, we will continue filling out the space with new engineers, administrative staff, and equipment. There is a lot changing in Boston, and we’re proud to help ensure these changes lead to stronger, safer cities.

Thank you to everybody that came to experience this inflection point with us! We’re proud to have a new home to serve New England from.
